Candle Burning Tips

Candle Care & Burning Rituals

A few simple rituals to help your candle burn safely, slowly, and beautifully — just as it was meant to.

1. Trim before you glow.
Before lighting, trim your wick to about ¼ inch. A short wick keeps the flame calm and helps your candle burn cleaner and longer.

2. Let the first burn set the tone.
On your very first light, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges. This simple step helps your candle remember to burn evenly every time after.

3. Keep it pure.
Dust, pet hair, or wick trimmings can interfere with your burn. Keep the surface clean — your flame will thank you.

4. Don’t rush the ritual.
Enjoy your candle for up to 3–4 hours at a time, then let it rest and cool. Like any good ritual, slow and steady makes it last.

5. Burn with intention.
Place your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from drafts or curious paws. Make your space feel safe, calm, and still.

6. Know when to let go.
When about ½ inch of wax remains, it’s time to say goodbye. Protect your vessel, and make room for what’s next.

7. Begin again.
Clean out your empty jar and give it new life — as a holder for dried flowers, cotton rounds, or quiet little memories.
